Split Stone is a round stone (like fieldstone) that has been split in half. The inner split face now becomes the outer face, and each stone must be hand chipped and faced to fit.
Michigan and Canadian stones are most common and are very colorful. The stone face is very rough and jagged, with an overall look of being clean and natural.
